To look at its history, one need not turn many pages of history, as the IEEE Student Branch, MSIT is one of the youngest organs of our college.
IEEE-MSIT was registered with IEEE, USA in March, 2009 and it marked the beginning of the journey of IEEE-MSIT onto the path of constant upgradations and developments. This branch was formed with the vision to promote innovative and technical ideas amongst all students and, to enrich the students’ knowledge much beyond the standard curriculum of the college. One of the main aims of this branch was to use innovative and environmental friendly methods and reduce the carbon count in all its events and spread awareness about the burning issue of global warming.
IEEE MSIT started its journey with a mere strength of 30 members in 2009 and after just one year, this number grew to an amazing 115. The student branch was termed as the fastest upcoming branches in the entire Delhi Section, while the branch counselor received the rare honour of “Best Branch Counselor of an Upcoming Branch” at the Annual General Meeting of IEEE, Delhi Section. This year, our IEEE family has grown bigger and better, with 187 proud IEEE members.
Today this student branch stands as one of the largest branches in the entire Delhi Section. Today IEEE-MSIT is a much talked about name in the galleries of IEEE Delhi Section. The branch may not claim many pages in the records of history but already has its bag full with the awards and achievements.
Many seminars and workshops have been organized by the IEEE Student Branch from the time it came into existence. IEEE- MSIT also made its presence felt by participating in various Quarterly Meets and GINI Meets. Student members gave their full cooperation in making these events a success. As mentioned earlier, IEEE-MSIT is committed to make this Earth a better place to live in and in its endeavour it became the premium sponsor for the Annual Technical Festival, VIRUS-2K9, which was a carbon-neutral event. In this way, not only did it put a step forward to accomplish its one of the major aims, but it helped in the wide-scale publicity of IEEE in MSIT.
In conclusion one can say that the IEEE-MSIT is moving at a fast pace onto the path of development and the day is not far away, when it will be one of the biggest Student Branches in not only Delhi, but in India.

The Branch Organization
The whole operation of the branch is carried out by the joint effort and cooperation of the various departments and the Executive Committee, under the guidance of the Branch Counselor.

The above-mentioned departments form the vital parts of our student branch and each one of them is indispensable. Each department has its functions outlined and works according to these guidelines also. However, these departments are interdependent and work in harmony with each other.

Special Interest Groups
The sole aim of creating SIGs is to create a channel through which the knowledge-sharing could be done in a non-formal way. SIG’s are hence ultimately conceived to draw groups of people together to discuss, debate and, occasionally, act together through the prism of their collective hobby. The vision is to create tightly knit cohesive group of people,, who would work together to increase their knowledge , take on projects and progress, all by interacting among themselves, hence churning out members with high technical expertise sustainably.
