Maharaja Surajmal Insitute Of Technology annually organises  its most awaited grand technical   event "Annual TechFest ' Virus' ". It used to have a fabulous response from students of various colleges. The Details of each technical festival can be read by selecting the appropriate Year.

TECHNICAL FESTIVAL 2009       As in the past, the annual technical festival of Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology, ‘VIRUS 2K9‘, was held during 2- 3 Mar 09 with much fanfare and josh. The two days long event was attended by a very large gathering, including students from institutions in and around Delhi. At the Inaugural Function, Dr S S Rana, past Vice-President of Surajmal Memorial Education Society was the Chief Guest and Shri B L Parashar, Ex- scientist from the Central Road Research Institute, New Delhi, and an eminent social worker, was the Guest of Honour. The function was started with lighting of the traditional lamp which was followed with Saraswati Vandana. The capable team of staff and highly motivated student volunteers had worked long hours over many days, and organised a bonanza of a most relished technical festival for everyone. The sheer numbers and size of the events was larger than ever. At the same time the number of participating teams from all over Delhi and around, was unprecedented this year. The beautiful posters and the other publicity efforts have, no doubt, had great impact. The size of foot- fall this year has never been seen before. Some other and unique achievements of this tech-fest are worth recounting. The first day’s centre piece of attraction of the Inaugural Function was the motivational talk by Shri Shiv Khera, the internationally renowned Guru on the subject. The usual charges of about Rs 3.6 lac for a two hour session were waved off for us by Shri Shiv Khera. Though he did give us many jitters before his belated arrival here, it was an awe inspiring talk befitting his reputation.   Another first - a ‘never –before’ sponsorship of over Rs 3 lac in cash and by way of prizes and gifts and free publicity were received! (not- merely promised- as sometimes happens!). The main sponsors were PT Education, IEEE Students Branch, CMC Ltd., Appin, Kirlosker, Minda and Bhagidari. The Media partners were CNEB News Channel and Radio One FM 94.3 MHz. Thus there may even be a saving out of the budgeted Rs 2.95 lac which our management had so graciously granted. As announced by our honourable Director, Prof Kartar Singh, the starting of a long awaited and over due ‘Student Chapter’ of IEEE at MSIT is another milestone achieved. On the second day of the event, the Prizes Distribution ceremony was held to encourage the participants. Prizes worth over a lac were distributed.               The Treasurer of the Surajmal Memorial Education Society, Dr R P Dahiya, was the Chief Guest and Shri H P Goyal of PT Education, was the the Guest of Honour at the event. The programme was concluded with singing of National Anthem at the end of the ceremony. The Tech–fest was a grand success. The arrangement made and facilities provided to the participants as well as the spectators were highly appreciated. The event won all-round praise from one and all.
